2 April is designated by the United Nations General Assembly as World Autism Day. This Day is celebrated to highlight the need to help improve the quality of life of those with autism so they can lead full and meaningful lives as an integral part of society.

In support of World Autism Day, Events for Good x Association for Autism Laos wants to raise awareness of autism in Laos while encouraging community members to stay active throughout the month of April to 31 May 2022.

Move for Autism is virtual challenge. Participants will be able to run, walk, bike or even wheelchair to achieve an individual target distance and/or contribute to the community target of 400,000km within the month of April until 31 May 2022.

This virtual challenge will have more of an inclusive rather than competitive focus. We want to encourage a diversity of participants to join and feel part of a larger community, rather than highlighting individual achievements of fastest times or longest distances. The net proceeds will be donated to the Association for Autism to assist them to further their mission. Additionally, throughout the Event period, Events for Good will work with the Association for Autism run a social campaign to raise awareness about autism.
